Fleeting Moments

After moving house a couple of weeks ago, I have been spending a lot of time unpacking and trying to organise things. It is really important to me that I have a cosy space I can relax in. However, I am terrible when it comes to unpacking, so it is taking me quite some time to get everything sorted out. Earlier in the week, I attended a really cool blogging event in Maven, a beautiful little gem which has recently just opened in Belfast. I gathered some great tips and I met other bloggers from my city, which is amazing. I love capturing the small fleeting moments that happen in my every day life, because sometimes those photos end up being the nicest of all. All of the photos above are courtesy of my Instagram.

I hope you are all having a lovely Thursday!

Foxy Lady

A jumper with a giant fox on it, how could I possibly resist? I picked up this jumper absolutely ages ago for some small change (£3, I think?) in the New Look sale. It's just perfect for cosy winter days. I was thinking of naming him, but, maybe that's going too far? I don't know. Perhaps.

Anyway, I hope you are all having a lovely week so far!!

Gloomy & Grey

The weather can't seem to make up it's mind these days. Yesterday we had a glimmer of sunshine before the sky turned grey and gloomy.  It was was definitely an evening for hot coffee and comfy clothes. We were on our way to have dinner, so we stopped to take some photographs around the Cathedral Quarter. I wore this playful skirt and blouse with a casual leather jacket thrown over it, perfect for a cosy dinner with friends.

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend so far!

Burberry AW14 Inspired Wish List

At London Fashion Week, tickets to Burberry’s AW14 show are the most sought-after in town. Fortunately for me, the brand stream the entire show online. The AW14 show was inspired by the boho Bloomsbury set of 1920's London. In SS14, we could see how art had influenced fashion, but this time around it was far more romantic and emotive. The models wore seductive bohemian layered print scarf dresses and the classic trenches were teamed with floral prints. Accessories came in the form of leather handbags and open-toed suede boots.

I absolutely love autumnal shades and polka dots, so naturally I couldn't get enough of Paloma Faith and Poppy Delevigne's outfits on the day.

Below I have put together a little wish list, inspired by the Burberry show. I really love Summer, but I can't help but feel a bit excited about the following seasons after seeing such a wonderful show.

Mid-Week Love

Happy hump day! Sometimes it feels like the weekend is forever away. Buy yourself some flowers to brighten up the rest of your week.

Gingham Girl

Today I went for a stroll around one of my favourite places in the city. The Cathedral Quarter is home to some of the oldest buildings in Belfast and I absolutely love to walk around the little cobbled streets and alleyways. Being typically Irish, in the space of one afternoon the weather turned from from lovely and sunny to bitter and snowy!

We managed to take some photographs down this pretty alleyway just in time. I posted about this gingham dress from Topshop in my mid-winter wishlist, I wanted it for absolutely ages and then it was bought for me as a gift! I love it so much, it's super cosy and perfect for days like this.

I hope you're all having a lovely week!

Big Love

Big Love by astitchtowear featuring red throw pillows

Happy Valentine's Day everybody! To be honest, I am not a huge fan of Valentine's Day because of all the commercial fanfare surrounding it. That's not to say I don't believe in romance, it's just I think it's something that should be celebrated every day of the year instead! There is so much pressure surrounding Valentine's Day for both couples and singles, so I tend to opt out of it every year. However, I absolutely love anything with a heart print, so I thought, what better time to put together  some of my favourite loved up pieces!

Burberry SS14 Inspired Wish List

Burberry presented an amazing show at LFW, proving itself as one of the biggest British brands around right now. Christopher Bailey showcased a beautiful collection of pretty pastels and ladylike glamour and cashmere, lace and suede were the fabrics of the moment.

The focus was on pretty dresses, slouchy outerwear and feminine separates, with cinched waists and thick belts highlighting the female form. The sheer fabric on show meant there was as much focus on Burberry's underwear as well as the outerwear. Matching the colours of the underwear to the outfit was key to the trend. I love the soft matching pastel colours. Bailey also unleashed a loud, contrasting print trend with striped blouses and polka dot midi skirts with the accessories offering a feminine edge.

Below I have put together a little Spring wish list inspired by the Burberry S/S 2014 show. I absolutely love the soft pastels teamed with a classic Burberry style coat, keeping in with the classic British style the brand is so famous for.

Mid Winter Wish List

Mid Winter Wishlist

Mid Winter Wishlist by astitchtowear

It's finally February, yes! I don't know about you, but January felt like the longest month ever to me. I can finally say good-bye to exams and assignments, even if it's just for a little while, hurrah!

As much as we are all getting very excited about new spring trends, I am definitely still feeling the winter chill! I really love dressing for the cold weather, so I have absolutely no problems with updating my winter wardrobe.

Even though Autumn seems like forever ago now, I haven't really gotten over autumnal shades. I really love the neutral colours, especially paired with deep wines and forest greens. I'm also obsessed with gingham right now and I'm so happy it's such a big trend at the moment. Topshop have loads of really nice pieces, it's so hard to choose just one! I picked this beautiful smock dress because it looks like it would be perfect to cosy up in on a cold winter's day.

1. ASOS scarf
2. Topshop hat
3. Tea mug
4. Topshop tan boots
5. Topshop gingham check smock dress
6. Dorothy Perkins ankle socks

What's on your wish list? I would love to know, feel free to leave a comment or a link to yours below.

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend so far!
