Heart On My Sleeve

7/17/2014

Oh my, I can't believe it's Thursday already. Where is time going? Why is it moving so fast? I feel like I have so many things I want/need to do this Summer, but it's just flying by so quickly!

For example (and you may be surprised by this one) I was kind of, sort of, following the World Cup (I blame my friends) and it honestly seemed like it was only on for a couple of weeks, and now it's over! These photographs were actually taken while John and I were on our way round to our friend's house to watch the final. Yes, this is all true.

We spotted this really pretty apartment building just around the corner. Even though I walk down this street all the time, I had somehow never noticed it before, and I just had to get a snap outside that lovely doorway! I wore this navy jumper I bought from ASOS recently, teamed with a heart print blouse and black shorts, both from New Look, and my Deena & Ozzy Loafers (I actually live in these) from Urban Outfitters. I also treated myself to a new bracelet from Topshop last week, how cute is the little dog?

I love layering up shirts with jumpers like this, and I know I shouldn't say it, but I'm already excited about dressing for Autumn! I think it might be my favourite season of them all.

Anyway, I hope you're all having a great week so far! I'm starting an internship next week, followed by starting my new job, so it's all a bit hectic with me at the moment. Wish me luck!

Hello there! Can you believe it's mid-July already?

Hello there! I have been such a bad blogger recently and feel like I haven't been posting as regularly as I would like to. Life has been pretty hectic lately, with so many different things happening at once, but I promise I will get back to blogging at least once a week! Also, I would like to apologise for the poor photographs, I had to use my iPhone for this blog post as I don't have a camera at the moment! Anyway, without further a due, here are the products I have been loving...

Liz Earle Signature Foundation - £21 (Shade Porcelain)

I have been using Liz Earle products for a little while now and I haven't got a bad word to say about any of them. This foundation is definitely the one I use the most. It terms of thickness, it sits somewhere in the middle – easy enough to buff into the skin for a polished finish, but not too runny either. I would say the coverage is about medium and very buildable. I find that it covers any redness and I rarely need to use concealer with it. 10/10!

Bumble And Bumble Surf Spray - £21.50

I really love Bumble and Bumble products, I think they are my favourite hair care brand for my fine, limp hair. This salt spray is quickly becoming a favourite of mine, after trying other salt sprays, I think this one is now at the top of my list. I simply spray a little on the ends of my hair, scrunch the product up upwards, and my curls are immediately more defined and bouncier. It's not only great for easy textured waves, but also for adding texture to lots of other hairstyles too!

Dove Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion - £2.49

My natural tanner of choice. I have gone through bottles of this over the years and I always come back to it. I am naturally very pale, but sometimes I like to add a little colour, especially during the Summer months! This gives me a very light natural glow and if I want, I can build up my colour. You just can't go wrong with it, because you are gradually building a colour. There is also no fake tan smell! Perfect.

Garnier Ultimate Blends, The Sleek Restorer Oil - £6.66

First of all, this stuff smells incredible! I always have to smell it before I apply to my hair, I just can't get enough of it! It can be combined as a heat defence serum and leaves hair feeling really soft. It's perfect for dealing with Summer frizz and fly always after styling. It leaves your hair looking healthy and shiny, and a little of this product goes a long way.

Stila Covertabile Colour, Lips & Cheeks - £16 (Shade Lilllium)

This is a cream blush is a lovely soft pink shade. It really compliments my pale skin tone and bring my whole face to life. It's also highly pigmented, so very easy to apply! I find that cream blushers are much more convenient than powders, especially because they can be used on the lips too! I really love the packaging as well, and the little compact mirror is so perfect when on the go! This blusher comes in 16 shades so there is definitely something for everyone.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet - £8.99 (Shade Frambourjois)

Last on my list, is my new favourite lipstick! I really love this shade, it's sort of pink-red and the colour really pops. It's also very easy to apply, long lasting and although it gives a matt finish, it doesn't make my lips look dry at all. It's so great, I've already picked up another shade!

What have you been loving recently? Have you tried any of these products?

I hope you're all having a fantastic week so far!

Review: Stila Custom Blush

7/03/2014

I have always been a blusher girl, and since the beginning of last year, I have been opting for cream blushers over the powder variety. After using powder blushes for years, I suddenly discovered cream blush and felt that it worked so much better on my skin and it is a little easier to apply. During Summer, I like to wear less make up and cream blush feels so light and natural.

However, after making the change from powder to cream, the Stila Custom Blush blusher caught my eye. I have read so many good things about this blusher by other bloggers and I just had to try it out! At first glance, the neon shade seems a little scary, but once applied to the skin it adapts to a much more flattering shade. It still looks quite pink on the skin, but I quite enjoy the contrasting shade against my pale complexion. I think I'll definitely wear this blusher a lot more in Winter, when I prefer to wear something more daring on my cheeks.

My advice? Don't be afraid to go for a daring shade of blusher like this one. A bright pink shade can look good on anyone, especially this one as it adapts to your skin tone – just don't be too heavy handed. I apply this with my favourite Real Techniques Except Face Brush.

Have you tried the Stila Blush range? What is your favourite blusher? I would to know so please let me know in the comment section below!

I hope you are all having a great week so far!
